Leroy Bourgogne Gamay is a rare and fascinating unicorn wine from one of Burgundy's most legendary and revered producers, Maison Leroy. While Burgundy is synonymous with Pinot Noir, a few appellations in the south of the region permit Gamay, the grape of Beaujolais. Leroy's version is not a simple, fruity wine; it is a profound and serious expression of Gamay, made with the same fanatical dedication to quality as their grand cru Burgundies.

The wine is crafted from old vines, farmed biodynamically (Demeter certified) with an extreme focus on low yields. In the cellar, Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy employs traditional methods: whole-cluster fermentation, natural yeasts, and aging in old oak barrels. The result is a wine of remarkable complexity, structure, and aging potential, completely transcending the typical "Beaujolais" stereotype. It is pale ruby in color, with a breathtakingly pure and intense nose of crushed red berries (raspberry, red currant), peony, violets, black pepper, and a distinct earthy, mineral undertone. On the palate, it is vibrant, elegant, and finely structured with silky tannins and a long, precise finish.
