Tasting Notes
Black cherries, oak, licorice, and leather. It has a light entry; the body is medium, with a smooth and sweet finish, rich in the complexity of leather.
Grapes have been grown at Chateau Lagrange, St-Julien, for over 600 years. A Third Growth in the Classification of 1855, it is the largest classified growth in the Medoc with 113 hectares under vine. It was acquired in 1983 by Suntory Group, which set about renovating the vineyards and the winery. Since then, it has rose to become a model estate and even today few Bordeaux properties can match Lagrange, with its huge barrique chais and its state of the art cuvier with its 56 temperature-controlled, stainless steel cuvées.
